Fostering Independence and Promoting Self-Advocacy in Secondary Students * – new!

Presented by Jennifer Lopez, M.S., CCC-SLP and Marie Nightingale, M.S., CCC-SLP (3 Hours)

Participants will learn how to encourage secondary students to be active participants in their education and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). When a student possesses the ability to advocate for themselves, they can utilize these skills throughout life. This presentation will review the importance of “soft skills” as well as the benefits of self-determination for these young adults.
