The implementation of CCSS in our schools ushers in a new mantra….”college and career ready!” The need for 21st Century skills for our students combined with increased expectations and accountability for learning will necessitate a shift in how teachers run their classrooms. SLPs, with their expertise in language, medical issues, autism, social skills development and organizational behavior, are at a critical crossroad in terms of their contributions. This workshop will cover linking the CCSS to the work of school-based SLPs, linking to assessment and linking IEPs, Goals and Service Delivery via the CCSS to the roles and responsibilities of SLPs.
