“My son has seen 3 different therapists here and we have had such a great experience. We drive from San Ramon 2 morning a week and I feel it is worth the drive! The therapists really work with my son at his level and with what works best for him to learn. They give me a great overview of his lesson upon completion and we discuss goals for the week and things we need to work on at home. I feel like this has really helped me as a parent to understand and to help my son on a regular basis on getting his speech more understandable. I would definitely recommend this group!”

“My son has been seeing Jill W. at Speech Pathology Group for over 2 years. We have had a truly wonderful experience. Jill provides support to us as a family, not just to my son. She is always giving me suggestions and resources to help my son in all areas of development. She has developed a strong and nurturing bond with my son and has hung in there with him during some tough times. My son has made major strides in his speech development since seeing Jill. We are very lucky to have found her. The staff at SPL are always polite, professional and very helpful. I can not recommend them enough.”

“As a state licensed and nationally certified Speech-Language Pathologist who has worked closely with The Speech Pathology Group (SPG) for the past few years, I would highly recommend SPG to anyone in the greater San Francisco/East Bay Area looking for professional speech and language pathology services. The team at SPG goes above and beyond to ensure clients and their families receive quality individualized services while maintaining a high level of privacy and cultural sensitivity. All of SPG’s clinicians are state licensed, nationally certified, and stay current with best practice by attending continuing education courses. In other words, the clinicians are well-trained and know how to treat a wide range of speech and language disorders. I have observed and worked with other speech pathology teams but SPG stands out as one of the best and most competent. Do not hesitate to schedule an appointment since early intervention is important and SPG’s appointment slots fill up quickly!!”

“We were fortunate to be referred to The Speech Pathology Group when my daughter was 18 months old. We were greeted by the friendly office staff when we arrived for each session. We were lucky to have worked with 2 truly talented speech therapists who played a key role in getting our daughter to finally talk. In addition to the weekly therapy session, we were given very helpful home strategies to use with our daughter that helped her improve tremendously. I am grateful for all the help my daughter received and for the support my husband and I were given. We know several local families that have used The Speech Pathology Group for their children and have also had a positive experience. If you have concerns about your child, this is the place to go. They will help!”

“My 11 year old son recently completed about a year of therapy at the Speech Pathology Group. His therapist was Pamela who was professional, knowledgeable, and warm. She was so helpful with his speech issues, even noticing he may have an orthodontic issue. We went to an orthodontist and he did need some work which would have been much more extreme if we hadn’t come in when we did! Thank you Pamela for not only the speech therapy but saving my son from more extensive work.

The director Jill is also competent, friendly and very helpful. My son and I were always greeted by the receptionist and felt welcomed. All my interaction with support staff were pleasant.

As far as other reviewers complaints regarding missed appointments – yes, they have a strict policy but it is only because there is a long waiting list for appointments. Every missed appointment makes those on the list wait that much longer.

I highly recommend this group without hesitation.”

“We have been so happy with the services from all the SPG therapists over the years. We have watched our autistic son grow from a young boy who couldn’t carry on a conversation to a teenager who mixes well into general education without any hesitation. They have worked with him on so many life skills, conversations, idioms to job interviews. Amazing outcome from a wonderful group of therapists. Thank you!” ~ Dawn H.

He has visited many different therapists over the years and he always has a huge smile on his face whenever he knows he can see Jill. She is completely dialed in to what my son’s needs are and has very good rapport with him. She is also very thorough and is great at providing you with feedback and ideas of what to do at home in-between sessions. We are very lucky to have found her!” ~ Parent

“My family would certainly recommend using the Adult Services of SPG. Late 2009, mom had a stroke resulting in severe Aphasia and Apraxia. Immediately after discharging from an acute rehabilitation center, we engaged SPG (initially Janel and later Lisa) to continue the intensive speech language therapy that she had been receiving. SPG was able to establish a similar protocol within a couple down days. Initially, Janel would come to the assisted living facility and later when she was more mobile mom attended office sessions. Over the course of a year, mom had significant receptive gains and some improvement in expression through the use of Augmentative Alternative Communication (iPad & App), a communication book, phonemic cues, gestures etc. As mom developed a friendly relationship with Janel, her view of the sessions was less about therapy and more about a somewhat normal social exchange – a big pressure reliever for her. With the direction/help of SPG and others, we felt good about pushing the envelope beyond the all too familiar Medicare/HMO boundaries that seem to inhibit solution finding.” ~ Charles
